  It all began with a simple thought but first a little back story to 2019.....




How it Started

During the worldwide covid19 lockdown, it was an opportunity for many to learn new skills and find ways to earn an income while sitting at home. I learned various skills ranging from Canva to Data Entry to PowerPoint presentations, and then I came across the world of transcription while browsing jobs on a freelancing site. I googled it and was delighted at what I discovered. I attended some classes, practiced, got gigs (which I am still getting), and it has been fantastic ever since.

 

So I started looking on the Nigerian web area, but I couldn't find anyone talking about this topic while I was getting gigs here, particularly in the entertainment industry.

I spent more time typing out interviews, podcasts, and video content as I wrote more. It was then that I actually realized I could share this knowledge and opportunity with others (well, that's me, I love to share what I know or learn with others) and I had students all around me who were stuck indoors with no way of earning and that's how my first classes "Make 100k monthly by just listening" and "Zero to Hero General Transcription" were conceived.

I taught what I knew and what I used to earn, and the rest, as they say, is history. I had learners who earned up to $1,000 USD.


Where We are...

And hence I decided to create a community called "Transcriptionists/Translators Nigeria," where job offers, transcription tips, and networking opportunities are shared. 

However, as my client base and community grew, I realized a need for a blog that could provide transcribing services information, tips, and information. So I decided to share my knowledge and expertise by starting a transcription blog to assist transcribers, businesses, and individuals with their transcription needs, including choosing the right transcription service, improving transcription accuracy, and saving time and money on transcription services, among other things.



Sound Writers is for like-minded individuals who are passionate about transcription and productivity. And I intend to keep offering excellent content to our readers for many years to come.
